Mom's The Word is a maternity wear store in San Francisco, Walnut Creek, and Palo Alto. It was one of my favorite stores to shop when I was pregnant. If you aren't in the Bay Area, you can shop online. Yes, it's true you are only pregnant for 9 months and you may think you can survive that time wearing the cheapest maternity clothes. Well, if you like fashion, trust me. You won't survive. My tip is to get a few pieces that are stylish and you like because as you grow bigger, you'll be only limited to a teeny section of your closet and it's easy to get depressed about it. I love this Cutest Tunic ($89) with an animal print because it's stylish, comfortable, and will look great over black leggings or jeans.
The key items to invest in? If I had to pick a few it would be a great pair of jeans, a dress (preferably in black cuz it works everywhere for anything), and a couple of nice tops and sweaters. Believe me. I thought I could make it through with Old Navy. Turns out, I went through 2 pairs of Old Navy jeans due to poor quality that I should have started with the 7 for All Mankind that lasted through the rest of the 5 months of my pregnancy, plus the 3 months after Chloe was born.
