Lakeshore Learning is one of my new favorite places to shop for educational things. (See my previous post on the kids keepsake art portfolio.) This week, Lakeshore Learning is launching their new Learning at Home collection of products, online as well as in all of their 57 Lakeshore Learning Stores.
One of the items in the Learning at Home collection is this Candy Box Math game. I think it's really important to teach kids that math is really fun, especially at a young age. The more they start counting and playing with numbers, the better I say. The game comes with 20 wooden candy pieces that are so adorable and store perfectly in the compact box. The game also comes with a play booklet where kids can sort the candies by shape, patterns, counting exercises, adding and subtracting and the basics of skip counting.
I also like to do some improvised games with Chloe. We play tea party and pick candies for each other. Then I have her practice her addition skills by seeing how many candies we picked together total.
