"Where's that Benny Badger?" my 5 year old Chloe would say on each page as we read Busy Bunny Days: In the Town, On the Farm & At the Port by Britta Teckentrup, one of the new crop of spring children's titles from Chronicle Books. She loves the format for these full illustrated scene books since she was two. I love that she's so engaged in the story that we have to pick up this book every night and do at least a couple pages when we've finished reading another book. It's been two weeks straight already!
The stories center around the Bunny family and their adventures in three different locales: home in their town, on day at the farm, and a day at the port before they sail away on a vacation cruise ship. Each locale goes through various times in the day from morning, noon, to night and each page is filled with questions for kids to find and discuss what certain characters are up to. This book is also a great way to start teaching kids about telling time and what happens throughout the various times in the day. Benny Badger, the pesky troublemaker you have to find in each page is a comical addition where kids need to discover the trouble he's getting himself into. Britta's illustrations are so detailed and adorable, it's an enjoyment for both kids and adults to read cover to cover.

I'll be reviewing more spring children's titles from Chronicle Books soon so stay tuned!
