Cocokind Brings Their Organic Skincare Goodness to Baby

Cocokind, one of my favorite organic skincare brands has recently just launched their Cocokind Baby line. The brand is already about clean ingredients with virgin organic coconut oil as their base for most of their products. Their baby line takes this even further with most products containing only a handful of ingredients. These products are great not only for baby but for toddlers, kids and even mamas with sensitive skin. Chloe has as always had sensitive skin -- I wish I had these products when she was a baby! Right now, I'm using the baby oil on her arms and legs after her bath. (I'm also using it on myself!) It isn't greasy. It absorbs quickly into the skin and makes the skin feel soft right away. I am also using the baby salve on the cheeks of Chloe's face for her Keratosis Pilaris (tiny bumps on skin). Coconut oil has completely maintained this skin problem which was something her pediatrician told me she would grow out of in her teens. I'm glad I can keep them at bay with the Cocokind Salve.

This is a great line for pregnant women to use too because of all the hormones going on -- your skin gets all out of whack. (I recommend the Cocokind Organic Facial Repair Serum.) Puj Infant Tubs: Soft, Foldable Baby Bath Tub for Your Sink

Giving a baby bath was one of the most stressful things I had to do for the first few months of my daughter's life. She was so small and delicate and I wasn't sure how the heck to manage bathing her in my small bathroom. We ended putting her big baby bath tub in our large tub and having a changing pad on the floor so we could dry her better. Baby Bathtub with Scale & Thermometer All in One

My daughter Chloe didn't last long in the baby bathtub since she was a big baby, but this Aqua Scale 3-in-1 Baby Bath Tub, Scale and Water Thermometer, Blue ($69 on Amazon) would have been so helpful the first six weeks as we were monitoring her baby weight to make sure she was taking in enough breast-milk. Lilsugar seems to think this could be too much for our generation of worrysome parents but the reality is otherwise. For some parents of newborns, having a scale is necessary such as for preemies or babies who may be having feeding-issues. I know of some parents who end up renting them for a month or two to save themselves time running back to Day One Center (a place in the Bay Area for parents/babies) or the pediatrician's office to weigh. I say whatever you can do to make the first few months easier for everyone – all the better.

The temperature display shows how warm the water is and also displays the baby's weight in pounds and ounces (or kilograms if you prefer).

One tip for baby bathing, I bought an extra four-sided changing pad to use on the floor. I would lay a towel over it so I could just carry my baby up and place her on the towel and get her dry quickly. I would place all her clothing and diaper next to the floor. It made bathtime a breeze and kept Chloe warm. I felt it was too drafty to change her back in her room.

Foldable Potty Seat

When Chloe and I are out and about, I am never without her foldable Ginsey Disney Princess Traveling Folding Potty ($12.69 at Diapers.com). I keep it in a large ziplock and it fits perfectly in my handbag or tote, as well as in her stroller. (It's small enough to fit in a Louis Vuitton Speedy 30.) This potty is great not only because it's compact, it makes it easier for Chloe sit and use public toilet seats. I used to hold her over one side of a large toilet seat and pray my arms didn't give in while she peed. Now she can sit perfectly on her own seat! (I always place a paper seat cover and then place her foldable seat on top.) It's easy for her to use. We had other covers that were not comfortable and were so big to carry around. This one is the best!
