"Lulu wake up!" I shouted as I was trying to get dressed. "We have to go soon to the Exploratorium!"
"YAAAAWN," said Lulu. "Chloe, have you ever had one of those dreams…"
"Where you are flying on a cloud eating a hamburger?" I asked.
"No silly, when you are eating your way through the town. Like the sidewalk is made out of delicious waffles."
"Lulu, you have the silliest dreams!" I laughed.
"More like the yummiest dreams!" Lulu joked.
After breakfast, we made our way to the Exploratorium. The Exploratorium is in one of the most beautiful parts of San Francisco. It’s along the palm tree-lined street named the Embarcadero that is right along the waterfront. It’s near the Ferry Building where there are vintage trolley trains that zoom by and lots of tourists walking about.
Lulu was next to me in the back seat of the car. She looked like she was getting antsy as she kept turning her head towards me. I knew she wanted to chit chat in the car ride, but obviously with Mom and Dad there she couldn’t. To calm herself down, she ended up licking my hands for most of the drive.
"Ugh Lulu, I need to wash my hands now!" I said wiping my hands on my pants as I got out of our car.
"No, you don’t. I did it for you!" Lulu whispered, giggling.
I laughed too. I couldn’t really be mad at this cute little Pom. Ever since she started talking to me this summer, I’ve loved all the fun conversations we had. I carried Lulu in her tote bag and we headed inside the Exploratorium.
All the while, I could hear Lulu nervously whisper to herself.
"Oh my goodness!"
"We’re getting closer!"
"Yippee!"
"I’m so proud of you, Peaches!"
"Why is it taking so long now?"
"Where is it?"
"I can’t see!"
"SHHHHHHHHH!" I shouted.
"Who are you shushing?" Mom asked.
"Oh, nothing. I’m just nervous," I replied, softly making the shushing sound a few more times so Mom wouldn’t suspect anything.
When we arrived at the Tinkering Studio inside the Exploratorium I immediately started looking at the glass display cases. Right there, in the front entrance, inside the first glass case I saw it. There was my Digit with a small sign next to it.

I couldn’t believe it. My tinkering work was on display for everyone to see. Mom and Dad were busy taking pictures of it on their phones. Moments later, they spotted the Tinkering Studio Director and walked over to her.
"Lulu can you see it?" I whispered.
"Yes Peaches, congratulations!"
"I couldn’t have done it without you," I smiled.
"I know," said Lulu. "You neeeed me! You really need me!"
"Yes I do need you Lulu," I smiled. "I think this is just the beginning of our tinkering adventures," I said. I looked around at all the magnets, wire, old toys and electronics in the studio. "There are so many things we can make!"
"Ok," said Lulu. "But first, I believe I smell delicious hot dogs. Can we get lunch now?"
"Oh Lulu," I sighed.
"Just kidding!" Lulu replied. "More tinkerbinkering adventures to come!"
